Capital Expansion Campaign

What to Expect

Building the Future of Rowing in Buffalo

WSRC’s Capital Campaign to create a world-class rowing center in Buffalo, N.Y., is underway—and we need your help to make this vision a reality.

This expansion will become the centerpiece of our rowing campus, providing a modern home for WSRC’s thriving middle school, youth, and adult programs while creating new opportunities to introduce rowing to more people throughout Western New York.

Your investment will support an organization with a proven track record of using rowing to build confidence, develop life skills, promote physical fitness, and create opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. Most importantly, it will allow WSRC to expand its reach and ensure that more young people have access to the transformative benefits of rowing.

This is more than an expansion of the facility—it is an investment in the future of rowing, our community, and the generations of athletes who will call West Side Rowing Club home.

Our Legacy, Our Future

At the West Side Rowing Club, we are passionate about the benefits of rowing to build character and change lives. WSRC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and has been serving Buffalo and the greater WNY community since 1912. Our purpose is simple, we have been teaching people the sport of rowing for over 100 years.

Expanding Our Reach

Youth, Collegiate, and Adult Rowing continues to grow rapidly, and WSRC’s programs need a larger, safe, and secure new space to be able to support its programs.

Growth Requires Space

The West Side Rowing Club rows on the Black Rock Canal. The Club has been based out of 1 Rotary Row since 1974 and is currently operating out of a boathouse that is over 50 years old. Over this time, WSRC has outgrown it’s current space.

A Vision for the Future‍ ‍

The Club has a design and development committee diligently working to break ground in 2028 for the premier rowing center for Western New York.

Naming Opportunities

To honor or recognize a family member, a rower, teammate, or loved one, naming opportunities are available and give supporters the chance to have a lasting impact on the boathouse and organization for years to come.

All naming opportunities, except for the new building, will be honored for 50 years. Named spaces will have a plaque, or signage incorporated into the building, recognizing your support.

Donations of any amount are welcomed.
