WSRC was founded in 1912 and recently celebrated its centennial year of teaching the "art of rowing" to the youth of Western New York. We are proud of our rich heritage and look forward to continuing a long and successful tradition in the rowing community for many years to come. Our rowers travel from many areas of Western New York to row at WSRC, including Lewiston, Youngstown, Grand Island, Lockport, Clarence, West Seneca, Orchard Park, and Hamburg.
The West Side Rowing Club has been awarded a $20,000 grant from the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Legacy Fund administered by the Community Foundation for Greater Buffalo. The grant will be used to help provide access to the sport of rowing for the surrounding public and charter schools of Buffalo. We look forward to bringing in student athletes from new schools that will be able to learn and succeed in the sport of rowing. We are extremely thankful for the generous assistance of the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Legacy Fund and look forward to expanding the inclusivity of our sport.
