Fall Programs

West Side Middle School Rowing

This team is for middle-school athletes (ages 12-15, or entering 6th grade) with little or no experience in Rowing, and is designed to prepare them for participation in the competitive High School program when they enter 9th grade. Practice runs Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 3:30pm-5:00pm. Ideal for kids who have just completed the summer Crew Camp, or are completely new to the sport! No experience necessary! The program will end with a race at our fall home race, the Head of the Niagara/Wright Regatta!

West Side Junior Novice Rowing

The West Side Novice program is for high school (grades 8-12) athletes, and is designed to introduce and prepare athletes to high-level training and racing, in preparation for the West Side Varsity program. Fall Season: Monday, Tuesday Thursday, and Friday from 5:00pm-7:00pm; Saturday mornings from 7:00am-9:00am

Cost: $525

West Side Varsity Rowing

The West Side varsity team is for experienced athletes with at least one year of rowing experience and who attend a high school that does not sponsor their own rowing program through West Side. This is a high-performance program that will challenge each athlete to be the very best that they can be. Athletes will train and compete to race in several local, regional, and national races. Fall Season: Monday-Friday from 5:00-7:15pm; Saturdays from 6:30am-8:30am.

Scholastic Rowing at West Side

The West Side Rowing Club hosts the following scholastic programs during the Fall season:

  • City Honors School

  • Mount St. Mary's Academy

  • Nardin Academy

  • St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute

  • GOW School

Cox Box Registration

This is for coxswains who own their own cox box only. The coxswain is solely responsible for their own cox box. The West Side Rowing Club is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged cox boxes, head sets, or batteries.

Cost: $262.50

Adult Competitive Team

The Adult Competitive Program is for experienced men and women who are interested in training and participating in a few competitive events in the summer and fall.  Previous rowing experience is required for this program. Season begins Monday, September 4th and ends Sunday, October 30th. Practice schedule is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 5:30am-7:30am.
